RunningLane Track Championships Could Produce Historic Miles

What did it take to make it into one of the fastest races of the year? It took at least a sub-4:50 for these 21 athletes to make the cut.

While there are several stars with the talent and willpower to break the tape, all eyes are on Kaitlyn Estep of Cardinal Gibbons (N.C.). Estep has a lifetime best of 4:36.56 in the Mile from the ASICS Carolina Distance Festival. The sophomore is also a week removed from winning the 1600m at the NCHSAA 7A State Championship.

Estep will have plenty of competition toeing  the line with her tomorrow in Huntsville, Alabama, joined by Ventura's (Calif.) Aelo Curtis, Cuthbertson's (N.C.) Colby McCollum, and Air Academy's (Colo.). Jordan Banta.

Future Arkansas Razorback Gabbie Bishop, who won the RunningLane Track Championship 3200m a year ago, owns a 4:42 1600m PB, but will play an integral role in how tomorrow's race plays out. 

Tomorrow night, 14 boys are coming into the 2026 RunningLane Track Championships with seed times under 4:05. 

Bentonville's (Ark.) Brian Burns, Collins Hill's (Ga.) Jameson Pifer, and McCallie School's (Tenn.) Andrew Beroset are three of the many milers who are capable of winning on Saturday night, with the trio owning PBs of 4:02.74, 4:05.64, and 4:00.82, with Beroset running that just over a month ago.
