With just a couple of national championship races left, the 2025 cross country season is just about wrapped up. The Brooks XC Regional Championships take place this weekend, culminating on December 13th in San Diego, and Nike Cross Nationals is slated for a week prior.

This fall, 64 girls ran under 17:00 in the 5K, continuing to raise the standard in high school girls distance running.

A couple of weekends ago, Wayzata's Maddie Gullickson (MN) climbed to 33rd in the national rankings at the NXR Heartland Regional Championships. The senior crossed the line in 16:49.50, securing her seventh win in eight races this season - her only non-victory being a runner-up finish at the Roy Griak Invitational.
