Brooks XC West Region Rankings: Top 1000 Boys

Register For The Brooks XC West Region Championship

The Brooks XC West Championship is quickly approaching. Slated for November 29th at the Mt. Sac Cross Country course in Walnut, California, the top runners in the West will clash for a coveted regional championship title and a qualifying spot at the Brooks XC National Championships in San Diego on December 13.

Washington is having an incredibly strong year, occupying the 4th through 7th spots in the first release of the Brooks XC regional rankings.

For those in the Evergreen State, the Mook XC Invite was a popular place set personal bests, including all four of the state's runners in this week's top 10. Miro Parr-Coffin (Gonzaga Prep) scored a second-place finish at the event, running a 14:29.60, while Bodie Thomas (Mercer Island) finished third, crossing the line in 14:32.00.

Zach Frazier (Gonzaga Prep) and Kington Shillito (Franklin) round out the state's dominant quartet, both having run 14:32, finishing 4th and 5th at the event, respectively.

Jackson Spencer (UT Herriman), the US #1 in the 5K, is also a part of the West Regional and will be who everybody is chasing on race-day. Spencer ran a 14:16.90 at the Clovis XC Invitational earlier this month and has been one of the most impressive high school runners we have seen in some time.

Washington has had strong performances at Balboa Park before and it would not come as a surprise to see another strong day for their athletes coming out of the West Regional.
