A New U.S. #1 Time for Ritzenhein

Addison Ritzenhein delivered a dominant performance in the Nike Nationals girls 2-mile, clocking a U.S. No. 1 time of 10:00.11-just missing the elusive sub-10 barrier. Her time solidifies her spot among the fastest high school distance runners in the country this season.

Mia Sirois (10:04.02) and Tsadia Bercuvitz (10:04.42) battled for second and third, both securing top-five national rankings. Sirois now sits at U.S. No. 3 and holds the top time in Illinois this year, while Bercuvitz claims the U.S. No. 4 spot and leads New York.

Lily Alder also turned in an impressive effort, finishing fourth in 10:06.75, placing her sixth in the nation. The race was one of the deepest all season, with four girls running U.S. top-10 times.

A Statement for Tommy Latham in the Boys 2-Mile Race

Tommy Latham delivered a statement performance in the Nike Nationals boys 2-mile championship, winning with a blazing U.S. No. 2 time of 8:44.35. The Georgia standout pulled away late, holding off a hard-charging Corbin Coombs, who finished just behind in 8:45.88 for U.S. No. 3.

The race was one of the fastest in meet history, as six athletes dipped under the 8:50 barrier. Noah Bontrager (8:46.75), Evan Noonan (8:46.92), and Daniel Skandera (8:48.09), all secured top-10 national rankings with their breakthrough performances. Marcelo Mantecon (8:49.78) ended up just outside the top ten times this season.

Latham's victory and the historic depth of the race further cement this year's Nike Nationals as one of the fastest in recent memory. With six athletes now ranked inside the U.S. top eight, the 2025 track season is shaping up to be an all-time great one.

Shamrock Unleashes New U.S. #1 Weight Throw

Shamrock Thoun of Woonsocket High School (RI) made history with a massive throw of 25.15m (82-06.25), becoming just the 16th high school boy to surpass 80 feet in the indoor weight throw. His performance now ranks 10th all-time indoors, solidifying his place among the event's greats. The 16-year-old added over two feet to his previous best of 24.37m (79-11.75) from Janaury, which was the previous U.S. #1 mark. With this breakthrough, Thoun continues to rise as one of the top throwers in the country as the indoor season progresses.

Harris Dominates in 400m Prelims

Olivia Harris dominated the Nike Indoor Nationals girls 400m prelims, securing the top spot with a blazing 53.85. Her performance ranks as the U.S. No. 5 time this season and marks a massive 0.78-second personal best.

The sophomore phenom became the first girl in her class to break 54 seconds this season, cementing herself as one of the top young talents in the country. Her time also places her 8th all-time indoors among sophomore girls, making her just the eighth sophomore in history to dip under 54 seconds indoors.

With this breakthrough performance, Harris heads into the final as the one to beat.

Three Clubs Break 4x200m Meet Record

The House RC (DC) put on a show in the boys 4x200m at Nike, winning Heat 6 in a blistering 1:26.34 to secure the meet title and the No. 3 time in the country this season. The squad of Quentin Braithwaite, Damilola Oyeniran, Mykhi Davis, and Jayden Deleon executed smooth exchanges to pull away from a competitive field.

GLS Speed TC (WA) followed closely in 1:26.77 for US No. 6, while Plus Two University TC (OH) finished in 1:26.82, taking US No. 7. All three teams broke the previous meet record of 1:27.17, set by GLS Speed TC (OR) in 2024.

Freshman Boys Stun with 60m Times

Kameron Bethea delivered a standout performance in the Nike Freshman Boys 60m final, clocking 6.84 to secure the win and set a new meet record. His time erased the previous mark of 6.90 set by Jaylen Slade in 2019 and places him among the fastest freshmen in the nation.

Kenneth Ward finished close behind in 6.89, also dipping under the old record in an impressive display of speed. While Bethea's time is just shy of the freshman national record of 6.78, his victory cements him as one of the top young sprinters to watch moving forward.

Three Girls Break MS 400m Meet Record

Carrington Harris blazed to victory in the Middle School girls 400m, setting a new meet record with a time of 56.16. The 13-year-old from Georgia dominated the race and now ranks U.S. No. 85 among all high track athletes this season. Lanah Lucas (56.91) and Cayla Hawkins (56.94) rounded out the podium, both narrowly dipping under the previous meet record of 57.01 set earlier this year. Lucas, just 12 years old, showed incredible promise with her runner-up finish, while Hawkins now holds the No. 8 time in Michigan this season. With three girls under 57 seconds, the race was the fastest in meet history and a showcase of the nation's top young talent.
