GREENSBORO -- Our first chance to see Kendrick Jones Jr. at the AAU Junior Olympic Games did not disappoint.
The rising junior from Lake Belton High School rolled through the first round of the 200 meter rounds on Monday, clocking an easy wind-legal 21.37 as he cruised through the finish.
There's reason to think the 16-year-old could have a big meet -- and perhaps even go after Erriyon Knighton's age group record of 20.33 from 2020.
Jones Jr. is the reigning Texas UIL Class 5A champion in the 200m with a wind-legal PR of 20.83. If the first round is of any indication, he's on the right path.
