As we head into the final weeks of the season, we will continue to examine year-over-year improvements in high school track and field.
This week, we dive into the 800 meter run.
Great Oak (CA) sophomore Marco Franco leads the country in terms of the biggest improvement over the last year. He's dropped an astounding 19 seconds over the last year, with a now-personal best of 1:56.08. It's currently the No. 8 sophomore time in California.
On the girls side, Olivia Saylor, a senior at Margaretta (OH), took off 31 seconds from her junior best, improving down to an excellent performance of 2:14.50.
