Looking back to the girls mile championship in 2022, we saw Mount De Sales Academy (MD) senior Juliette Whittaker take out the race with a bold plan.
In a deep field, Whittaker took the lead from the gun, didn't look back and ran to a winning performance of 4:41.18
Whittaker would go on later over the outdoor season and earn herself the triple crown with three IAAM state titles in the 800m, 1,600m and 3200m. At the time, her mile performance landed Whittaker at the U.S. No. 13 position, which she would later improve to U.S. No. 5 with her time of 4:36.23 at Brooks PR later that summer.
The 2024 Penn Relays will be here before we know it, taking place from April 25 through April 27, and are set to have some fast performances.
