You can say California is ready to get rolling.

On Saturday, athletes from across the Golden State will compete at the annual California Winter Championships set to be held at Arcadia High School.

Over a thousand California track and field athletes have made their run-up through January over a series of qualifiers in their respective regions.

They'll get a chance to earn some hardware.

That being said, California's winter season is a little different than most.

Saturday's championships will vie for nontraditional event disciplines. Here were the standards.
