VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. -- The action heated up on Day 2 of The VA Showcase inside the Virginia Beach Sports Center on Saturday, with two longstanding national records going down across the boys and girls fields -- making it now 16 indoor national records broken since this meet debuted in 2017.

The programs who captured those honors?

The boys sprint medley relay mark went down courtesy of The Bullis School boys, while a healthy 19-year-old time in the 4x400 was erased by the Montverde Academy girls.

Star power was omnipresent.

Considered two of the nation's top prep powers in high school track and field -- with strong pedigrees and equally as talented rosters -- Bullis and Montverde left The VA Showcase on Saturday with much to be satisfied with.

We recapped all the action from Day 2 below.

Boys 4x200 Invitational Championship

Archbishop Carroll (DC)

Winning time: 1:25.79

It was only last March at adidas Track Nationals that Archbishop Carroll scored the No. 2 boys time in history in the 4x200.

That wasn't enough.

The DC-based program reloaded with full effect, following on Saturday with an astonishing performance and one that left those looking on inside the Virginia Beach Sports Center with their mouths agape.

The Dragons secured the No. 3 time ever recorded in history -- though the program's 1:25.63 from last year will remain on the national leaderboard -- winning the 4x200 invitational section in 1:26.79 over Oscar Smith, which followed in 1:26.01.

MVP Of The Day

---

Le'Ezra Brown, Dudley (NC)

60mH winner, 2nd in the 200m (open), 2nd in SHR

We don't want Brown to leave The VA Showcase without getting his fair kudos.

The high school junior from Dudley High School in Greensboro showed his versatility across the weekend, scorching the track first with his 200 meter time of 21.97 -- good for second-place in adidas section -- before following on Saturday with his tour de force effort in the 60mH, a winning U.S. No. 4 time of 6.83 seconds that ultimately came down to timing.

Brown never led until the tape, with his lean at the 60 meter mark being just a tad better than DeMatha Catholic's Anthony Waterman. Both were separated by just a hundredth of a second.

Still, Brown's win only reaffirmed his performance, a do-it-all approach that saw him feature across several different events across the weekend, including the shuttle hurdle relays.

Displaying power, poise and control, Brown walks away from The VA Showcase as one of the top emerging talents in the U.S.

Mixed 4x400: Using a boy-girl-girl-boy lineup, Salem (VA) compiled a winning time of 3:54.46 as it leaned on its final two legs.

Girls USATF 4x400: That record is gone. Montverde Academy erased a 19-year-old standing 4x400 record behind Adaejah Hodge, Olivia Smith, Alivia Williams and Skyler Franklin, scoring a time of 3:37.63. Smith was the fastest split on the day, registering a time of 53.79.

Girls 4x200: Olympic earned the honor of being the fastest team over the unseeded sections in 1:42.30.

Boys 4x200: West Springfield produced the best time of the unseeded heats in 1:29.32.

Girls 1K: Padua Academy's Sophia Holgado scored the top time over the unseeded 1Ks, posting an effort of 2:59.11.

Boys 1K: Tatnall's Jackson Downin claimed the top time in the unseeded section with a time of 2:31.81.

Girls 500m: William Byrd's Grace Onwi posted a top time of 1:19.13 over the heats.

Boys 500m: Massaponax's Davian Booker left with the fastest time of the heats in 1:05.87.

Girls 4x400: Olympic dived under the four minute barrier, clocking a time of 3:58.93.

Boys 4x400: Bayside notched the best time out of the section in 3:25.94.

Boys SMR: Yorktown scored a top time of 3:41.67.

Boys PV: Montverde Academy's Alex Georgiev won on attempts, clearing a bar of 15 feet, 7 inches.
