Seven high school boys enter the season with shot put personal best marks over 60 feet. Three athletes have weight throw career best throws over 70 feet.
Those past successes should make for an exciting indoor season.
But the matchup to truly watch this year comes at the very top between two Midwestern athletes: Hortonville's (WI) Ben Smith and Heritage Christian's (IN) Luke Himes.
The dynamic pair are the top returning shot put throwers in the country and have signed with two powerhouse programs in Oregon and Notre Dame, respectively.
