Would it be Nike Cross Nationals without Saratoga Springs?

After winning the inaugural championships in 2004, the ladies of Saratoga Springs have won two more titles, and are the defending champions after posting just 81 points a year ago.

On Saturday, the senior trio of Emily Bush (18:09), Alycia Hart (18:42) and Anya Belisle (18:48) led the Blue Streaks to yet another NXR New York title, with the group going 1-4-6, followed by Kate Turner, Cora Conley and Reagan Owen crossing in 24th, 30th and 31st.

The defending champs didn't have much trouble finding their way onto the podium, beating out the runner-up by 20 points.

Next week's title defense will be a tough one thanks to the caliber of some of the nation's teams, but an experienced squad made up of four upperclassmen should be more than up for the challenge.
