On an oddly cool early September evening, three eventual state champions, Wyatt Haughton, Clay Shively and Colby King shattered the fifteen-minute mark, joining Blue Valley West legend Stuart Mcnutt and current Shawnee Mission North senior Micah Blomker, as the only high school athletes in Kansas to ever run sub-fifteen in the state's history.

All three athletes went on to leave historic marks in their wake, with Haughton becoming the first boy to ever break fifteen minutes at Rim Rock Farm at the state championship in October. King went on to qualify for Nike Cross Nationals, joining a coveted and small list of Kansans to make it out of the Heartland Region. Shively went on to run 4:01 on the track this past spring, and made a name for himself nationally.

This year, both Haughton and King are off to begin their careers at the Division I level, with Shively ready to let it rip during his senior campaign. The 2023 edition of Olathe Twilight is slated for Saturday, September 9th, with the races beginning at 5:30 p.m.
