The long-awaited 2023 cross country season is finally here and MileSplit saw impressive boy's performances throughout the week.

This marks the first National Boys Performer Of The Week poll for the fall. To kick off the first poll of the fall, who's getting your vote?

We will recognize a winner every week in this poll, with nominations handed out on Monday. The poll will end on Friday and winners will be announced the following Monday.

Here are the nominations for the first National Performer Of The Week Poll:

Daniel Simmons, American Fork (UT): The 2022 National Gatorade Player of the Year and Nike Cross Nationals runner-up began his senior campaign in the win column, making his way across the course at the Cottonwood Complex at the Wahsatch Rendezvous. Simmons clocked 14:48.36 for 3 miles to put 47 seconds between himself and the field.

Daniel Hruska, Cherry Creek (CO): The senior landed himself on a lonesome but coveted list over the weekend, becoming the only Colorado boy to dip under 15:00, running 14:49 on the dot to win the Cherry Creek Steve Lohman Invitational on his home course.

Max Miller, Prosper (TX): The Eagle senior shot to the top of the charts over the weekend, winning the Southlake #1 XC Invite in a nation-leading 14:26.70 for 3 miles. Miller held off the competition for an opening season victory at Bob Jones Park.

Cameron Todd, Brebeuf Jesuit Prep (IN): The Notre Dame commit defended his Marion County Championship title over the weekend, winning for the second consecutive year in Indianapolis, Indiana. Todd clocked 15:25.10 on his own course to win by nearly forty seconds.

Sam Quagliaroli, Fishers (IN): Officially the fastest man in The Hoosier State, Quagliaroli ran 15:02.10, a shiny new twenty-four-second personal best.
