After historic efforts at national championship meets a week ago, we've crowned our final National Boys Performer Of The Week of the 2023 outdoor season.

And our last performer award goes to someone who certainly took his season to a whole new level.

Garnering two wins and two US No. 2 all-time performances across three races contested over five days, Simeon Birnbaum ended his high school season on the highest of notes.

It began at Brooks PR on June 14 where he clocked a winning 8:34.10 for 2 miles, which also ranks as the second-best time ever in U.S. high school history. Then on June 16 at Nike Outdoor Nationals, Birnbaum raced with the pros in the men's 1,500m and registered another US No.2 all-time mark with a 3:37.93 third-place effort.

He would end out the week on June 18 with a marvelously-executed win in a competitive high school boys mile in 4:02.22.

The Oregon commit earned 72-percent of the vote to win in the 13th and final National Boys Performer Of The Week poll of the season. It also made for his second weekly performer award of the season after winning during week three following his efforts at the Arcadia Invitational.

This will be our final National Performer Of The Week recognition of the outdoor season. Our awards will resume during the cross country season.
