WATCH: Noah Jenkins Turns It On Late For 8:49 Win At RTC3


HUNTSVILLE, Ala. -- Noah Jenkins was on a mission Friday night inside Milton Frank Stadium. 

The Herriman (UT) High School senior was not going to be denied in the championship 3,200m at the RunningLane Track Championships as he withstood a challenge early from Marcelo Parra, made a move midway through and then answered a last-ditch challenge from Keegan Thomas to win in 8:49.68. 

Thomas, a senior from Stillwater (OK), set a new state record in 8:50.14 and put down a blisitering 58-second final lap to close on Jenkins. 

Valor Christian's Dane Eike was third in 8:52.51 while Georgia's Ethan Edgeworth was fourth in 8:53.56 and Hurricane's (WV) Ty Steorts was fifth in 8:54.19.
