Whitehouse (TX) senior Jermod McCoy left his mark competing in one of the most competitive state championships just over a week ago.
At the UIL Texas Class 5A State Championships, McCoy put on a show in the field with a double win in both the long jump and triple jump, logging leaps of 23-10.5 (+1.9) and 50-7.75 (+1.3)
The latter mark earned McCoy a US No. 1 ranking in the triple jump, and he would go on to win the week eight poll for the National Boys Performer Of The Week series this outdoor season.
McCoy grabbed 42-percent of the vote to earn the weekly performer honor.
Our latest poll features a slew of new state title winners and record-holders after a wild weekend of championship action across the country. And don't forget, too, that winners of the awards this season receive National Athlete Of The Week backpacks courtesy of TrackBarn.
