PHILADELPHIA, Pa. -- For the IMG Academy boys, they got the job done on Thursday in the prelims of the 4x100 championship at the Penn Relays.
Next up: The Championship of America final on Friday at 1:40 p.m. EST.
The Ascenders, the nation's top ranked 4x100 team with a PR of 40.11 this season, clocked the fastest prelim in 41.32 seconds, holding off St. Elizabeth (JAM), which posted an identical time and also advanced.
Of the nine teams which advanced, six are from Jamaica, including Kingston College (41.72), Wolmer's Boys (41.79), St. Jago (42.03), St. George's (42.07) and Excelsior (42.23).
The American contigent in the COA final will include Archbishop Carroll (41.89) and Mallard Creek (NC).
