In front of the home crowd, Drew Griffith of Butler (PA) and Brian DiCola of Hatboro-Horsham Senior (PA) could face each other once again this season. Over the last year, these two have produced some of the best performances when lined up against each other.

Griffith and DiCola, who were ranked U.S. No. 11 and No. 15 during the indoor season in the mile, respectively, will toe the line Friday evening for the fifth time this year.

DiCola clocked 4:06.58 in the 1,600m already this outdoor season while Griffith cruised to a 4:31.75 at a dual meet this month. Griffith ran 4:07.24 to win the mile title at the PTFCA Indoor Track and Field Championships his senior season.

Among the rest of the field will be the Virginia star Conner Rutherford of Blacksburg (VA). The Georgia recruit produced a mile personal best last weekend at the Carolina Distance Carnival with a 4:14.91. Rutherford's strategy this season can be described as 'patience.' He buys his time and kicks when you least expect it. Don't count out this senior as a top contender for this title.
