There has been tremendous growth in the boys long jump this season. There were just over 600 boys this spring who improved their marks from last year's best.
Syaun Wallace of South Bakersfield (CA) showed a 4-6.25 improvement from a year ago. As a junior, he long jumped 16-1.5 and in mid-March, he leaped to a new best of 20-8.
Everett Allen of Youngker and Zachary Fagin of Los Altos were other athletes in the conversation who had over four feet of improvement.
