Tasty Race: Aleesa Samuel Hurdles To 13.26 In 100mH


At the Louie Bing Invitational over the weekend, Aleesa Samuel sprinted to a 13.26 in the 100mH into a -2.0 to set a new Florida state record

This weekend was filled with many performances, including a sophomore who made a statement at the Louie Bing Invitational in the 100mH.

Aleesa Samuel of Somerset Academy Pembroke Pines (FL) lined up for the 100mH finals in Miami on Saturday. Once the gun went off, she was the leader to the first hurdle and she continued the momentum all the way through the finish. She crossed the finish line in 13.26 performance into a -2.0 wind. 

Samuel's performance set a new wind-legal Florida state record while she was just .12 off the state's fastest overall time in history.
