Yet again, Sophia Gorriaran moves up the all-time leaderboards.

This time, it's in the 500m, as the Moses Brown School (RI) senior finished second in a field of collegians and pros at the Boston University Scarlett and White Invite in 1:10.42.

That's good for US No. 3 all-time and sits just tenths of a second behind Athing Mu's national record of 1:10.22 set in 2020.

It's also a nearly one-second improvement upon Gorriaran's previous best of 1:11.26 set earlier this season at The VA Showcase, which at the time ranked as the fifth-fastest performance in high school history.

The high schooler finished only behind Harvard's Victoria Bossong, who clocked 1:10.23 for the win.

Gorriaran has already thrown down numerous all-time efforts on the indoor oval, including a 4:37.54 mile for the sixth-best time in the record books to begin her indoor season in December. And just last weekend at the Dr. Sander Invitational, Gorriaran took third in the 1,000m against pros in 2:39.83, good for US No. 2 all-time.

She currently holds nation-leading times in the 500m, 800m (2:02.27), 1,000m and mile currently in the 2023 indoor season.

Gorriaran is also the 600m outdoor high school national record holder and went 2:00.58 in the 800m during the 2022 indoor season for the second-best mark in indoor history.
