Over 380 elite performances came out of Birmingham over the weekend as Alabama's top talents competed for titles at the state indoor championships.

But no effort compared to that of state record holder Cady McPhail.

The Chelsea senior and Auburn signee who's had a breakthrough season on the track won not one, but three individual Class 7A state titles on Saturday, along with a relay win as the anchor on Chelsea's 4x800m team.

McPhail would clock 2:11.63 in the 800m, 4:57.68 for 1,600m and 10:56.86 at 3,200m to complete the distance sweep.

But McPhail wasn't the only athlete to impress with multiple championship wins.

Top half-miler Alex Leath of Vestavia Hills took care of business in his premiere 800m event with a 7A title-winning time of 1:53.41 and later doubled back to win the 1,600m in 4:10.94. The latter title came in a showdown with the nation's leading 3,200m performer in Maxwell Hardin, who took second to Leath in 4:12.24.

Hardin would go on to win the 7A 3,200m in 9:22.13.

Stealing the show, though, was perhaps the contingent from Hoover as they dominated the 7A girls and boys team competition.

Despite McPhail contributing 30 points in the individual events for team title runner-up Chelsea, Hoover took the girls title with 101.5 points behind two relay wins and numerous point-scoring performances in the sprints and 800m. The boys win came thanks to a final point tally of 124, winning the meet by over 70 points.

Looking at highlights across other divisions, Mountain Brook duo of Reagan Riley and Lucy Benton helped the team garner 46 points in the distance events alone to win the 6A girls team title, and the closest team title race came in the girls 1A-3A classification as Altamont took the championship by less than a point over Houston Academy.
