On the latest For The Record interview, Cory sat down with Zachary (LA) senior Rhen Langley, who was coming off an indoor state record in the 1,600m at the LSU High School Classic on Jan. 7.
The LSU signee, who grew up just outside Baton Rouge, believed he had an opportunity to approach the record.
But at the same time, he said, he had to capitalize in that moment.
"At that moment, stepping my foot on the line, it was kind of like 'I have to do it,'" he said. "In my mind, this is probably the only chance I'll have at the record. So I want to make the most of it."
And yet, Langley isn't finished. The Louisiana distance standout now has aims in the 3,200m and has goals of tripling at the Louisiana state indoor championships.
