Huntley Buckingham of IMG Academy (FL) wasted zero time this weekend at the Radd Sunshine Showcase as she clocked two of the fastest performances for the freshman class. In her season opener, the AAU Club champion in the 1,500m and 3K ran personal bests in the 1K and 3K at the newest Alachua County Sports and Event Center in Gainesville.
Her performance in the 3K was memorable as the freshman won the title by nearly 18 seconds with a 10:13.84. Her time over the weekend puts her at US No. 2 and No. 22 all-time amongst the freshman class.
Buckingham also crossed the finish line in the 1K with a solo effort of 3:02.91, which ranks her No. 9 amongst the class of 2026.
Buckingham's performances suggest a promising future for the young talent in Florida.
