Perhaps it shouldn't come as much of a surprise to see Cicero-North Syracuse's (NY) Kate Putman and Bullis' (VA) Quincy Wilson doing what they know how to do best -- win.

Putman dominated the girls distance competition, while Wilson put together nationally-ranked efforts in the boys sprint events to highlight action at the U.S. Army Officials Hall Of Fame Invitational at The Armory.

4:45.90 for NC State-bound Putman won the girls mile race and puts her only behind Sophia Gorriaran in the national event leaderboards. She also clocked 2:53.64 to win the 1,000m for a successful distance double.

Similarly, Wilson ran away with two event titles in the boys 300m and 500m, with a time of 1:02.63 in the latter boosting him to a US No. 1 ranking in the 500m. The Bullis freshman also clocked 34.11 to win the 300m, which puts him among the top 10 performers in the country so far this season.

Those times also made for historic performances in freshman class history. Wilson now owns the freshman national records in both the 300m and 500m thanks to his Saturday efforts.

In the field events, Christian Toro of Lincoln (RI) stole the show as he improved upon his weight throw lifetime best to throw 79-1.25 for the second-best mark seen so far this season in the country. Teammate Jillian Leahy also had a sensational performance in the girls weight throw field with a 50-1 PR for US No. 4.
