It's the new year, and so we had an idea: We're going to bring back our 'Inside' series.
Each week, we're going to profile a national-level athlete in a discipline of their choice -- following a stand-out performance, of course -- stemming from the previous week's action.
In particular, we're going to provide an in-depth study on why their effort sheds light beyond that given day. Was it a personal, state or national record? Was it an all-time mark? What did that performance tell us about their potential, their future, or their hopes moving forward into the season?
First up this week, we dive into the recent indoor 800m effort of Andrew Regnier, a high school senior from Waunakee High School. The unsigned senior ran a new U.S. No. 1 time of 1:51.56 at the Tracksmith Twilight Indoor meet last Saturday. You will also be able to find these series on our Tik Tok and Instagram channels.
