Based on the top returners in 60m, the fields this 2023 indoor season look to be completely stacked.
Shawnti Jackson of South Granville (NC) enters her senior season as the national record holder and the heavy favorite in this event. Avery Lewis, Micayah Holland, and Laila Campbell are three strong contenders for titles this year as they return this season with some of the best marks in the country.
On the boys side, there have been two boys who dipped under 6.60 at this distance in history - Casey Combest who sprinted to 6.57 to break the national high school record, and Anthony Schwartz who was two-hundredths of a second behind him. The top returners this season consist of the seniors Elijah Morrow, Nyckoles Harbor, Nigel Ancrum, and Corey Royster, who all broke through the 6.80 barrier last year.
