WATCH LIVE: GARMIN RXC3 ON MILESPLIT
Two years ago, Cherry Creek (CO) standout Parker Wolfe made the trip down from the elevation in Colorado to Huntsville for the first-ever RunningLane Cross Country Championships -- and he made a winning statement.
Former Marietta (GA) star Kamari Miller established a quick lead from the gun and held it through two miles, but with just under a mile to go, Wolfe hit a gear that neither Miller nor any other athlete could match.
The current University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill front runner surged through the finish at John Hunt Park in 14:26.94 for 5k to grab the title at the lone high school national cross country championship event of the 2020 year marked by the COVID-19 pandemic.
That made for Wolfe's fourth-ever 5k performance under 15 minutes at the time, and earned him the top spot on the Colorado all-time rankings at the distance.
Watch above to see Wolfe break down his title-winning race from 2020, and check out all of MileSplit's comprehensive coverage heading into the 2022 Garmin RunningLane Cross Country Championships by checking out the meet page.
