With the 2022 cross country season in full swing, we're restarting our National Performer Of the Week poll.
MileSplit saw some solid girl performers already over the last week.
We will recognize a winner every week in this poll, with nominations handed out on Monday. The poll will end on Friday and winners will be announced the following Monday.
Here are the nominations for the first National Performer Of The Week Poll:
Isabel Conde De Frankenberg, Cedar Park (TX): At the FEAST Patriot 20th Annual HS and MS XC Invitational, Conde De Frankenberg clocked one of the nation's fastest performances for 5K this season. Her winning time of 16:56.62 was a new personal best and it was her first time dipping under the 17-minute mark. For her performance, she earned a 144 speed rating.
Abbey Nechanicky, Wayzata (MN): It was the Nechanicky show at the St. Olaf High School Showcase. The senior earned a 152 speed rating for her 17:08.9 5K victory. She won this event by over a minute.
Shewaye Johnson, Prosper (TX): Johnson put together another strong performance at the Marcus T. Invitational in North Lakes Park. Johnson clocked a 17:08 5K personal best and earned a 145 speed rating to edge out an elite field of competitors.
Tessa Walter, Air Academy (CO): The sophomore led Air Academy to the team title at the Cheyenne Mountain Stampede (Pre-State) meet over Fairview and Battle Mountain. She earned a 141 speed rating for her 17:50 finish.
Nicki Southerland, Delta (IN): Southerland clocked a 17:15 to win the Marion Invitational and set a new course record.
Ali Bainbridge, Sioux Falls Lincoln (SD): Bainbridge clocked one of the nations fastest 5K performances this season at the Augustana Twilight XC Meet. She crossed the finish line in a 17:18.21 to win the race with a 140 speed rating and by nearly 30 seconds.
