AAU Athletes To Watch: Justin Braun Can End Season With Gold

WATCH LIVE: THE 2022 AAU JUNIOR OLYMPIC GAMES

BEGINS AIRING FROM JULY 30-AUG. 6

The AAU Junior Olympic Games will take place in just a few short weeks in Greensboro, North Carolina. MileSplit took a dive into some of the athletes who could put together some memorable moments at this year's championships.

Ohio's Justin Braun will compete in the 400m for the final time as a high school athlete before heading to the west coast.

At last year's AAU Junior Olympic Games, Braun entered the finals of the 200m with the leading time of 21.01. Unfortunately, Braun suffered an injury coming off the turn in the race and didn't walk away with a gold.

This outdoor season, the USC recruit set a personal best and a national leading time this May at the OHSAA Division I Region 3 meet with a 45.65 in the 400m. Braun then suffered another injury later this season and decided to opt from competing at the OHSAA Outdoor Track and Field State Championships.

The good news is Braun is back and ready to have fun in the 400m at the AAU Junior Olympic Games. This could be something special for him as he won the gold medal at the 2019 championships in the 400m as a freshman with a 47.22.
