Cade Flatt Authors The Third-Fastest 800m ... Ever

Cade Flatt waded into deeper waters over the weekend.

The reigning New Balance Nationals Indoor 800m champion tested himself against collegians on Saturday at the Joe Walker Invitational in Oxford, Mississippi, and came up huge, logging the third-fastest 800m in high school history.

1:47.04.

Finishing just behind Mario Garcia Romo, who clocked the fourth-best time in the NCAA this outdoor season in 1:46.90, the Marshall County (KY) senior and Ole Miss signee logged a new career best performance and dropped over three seconds from his previous best in 2021.

Better yet, he's more than seven seconds faster than this time last year.

Flatt is currently U.S. No. 1 in the 800m and No. 9 in the 400m with a time of 47.07.
