Many will seek individual honors at either the historic Foot Locker National Cross Country Championships or Nike Cross National Championships. Nike Cross Nationals will offer the Team National Championship.

ONSITE UPDATES:  American Fork(UT) won the boys team title with 74 points.  Albuquerque(NM) was 2nd, also with 74 points, as the title came down to the 6th runner.  Fort Collins(CO) won the girls team title with 72 points.  Classical Academy(CO) finishes 2nd with 83 points.  Mountain View(UT) was 3rd with 120 points and Park City(UT) was 4th with 151 points.  

 

Wade Meddles(NV) led wire-to-wire to win the boys Championship race with a time of 15:08.25.  Billy Orman(AZ) took 2nd and Sherod Hardt(AZ) was 3rd.  Eleanor Fulton won the girls Championship race in 17:45.46.  Kaitlin Hanenburg(CO) was 2nd, Julia Foster(NM) was 3rd, and Jessica Tonn(AZ) finished 4th.

Ryan Dohner upset Craig Lutz with a time off 15:38.9 on a muddy course.  Parker Stinson was able to get past Lutz as well as he finishes 2nd with Lutz 3rd.  Sarah Andrews ran away with the girls race with a time of 18:14.8.  Rachel Johnson finished a distant 2nd with Amanda Russell in 3rd.

State Meet Coverage

 

Florida State Championships (FL):  Complete Meet Coverage (including video interviews, photos, and analysis) | 1A Champs- Kathryn Fluehr (Photo by Barry Jones) won the class 1A race with a time of 16:59.53.  Kathryn broke the course record of 17:01, set by 2007 Footlocker Champion Ashley Brasovan.  Ericka Fluehr, was 2nd in 17:35.23.  Holy Trinity won the girls team title over Maclay, 92-97.  Community School of Naples was 3rd with 104 points.  Patrick Swain won the 1A boys race with a time of 15:44.98.  Trinity Prep won the boys team title over Holy Trinity, 48-55.  2A Champs- Stephanie Schapper won the 2A girls race with a time of 17:58.93.  Strasser was 2nd in 18:02.88, and Carpio was 3rd in 18:08.17.  Bolles won the girls team title over Bishop Kenny, 87-134.  Colin Barker won the boys race with a time of 15:22.86.  Erik Montoya was 2nd in 15:24.08, Davidson was 3rd in 15:25.98, and Williams was 4th in 15:30.49.  Bishop Kenny won the boys team title 106-109 over Estero

4A Champ Brian Atkinson & 3A Champ Matt Mizereck

3A Champs-  Carly Thomas outkicked Chiles teammate Lily Williams to win girls race in 18:20.97.  Chiles won the girls team title 40-62 over Lakewood Ranch with a team average of 18:57.  Matt Mizereck won the boys race by moving up throughout the race and kicking with 200 to go to win in 15:21.64.  Leon won the team title over Belen 59-1034A Champs-  Shelby Hayes won the 4A girls race in 18:13.02.  Winter Park won the girls team title with 64 points over Melbourne, 105, and Loures, 118.  Brian Atkinson won the boys race with a time of 15:20.48 with Parrish 2nd in 15:30.85.  Columbus crushed Dr. Phillips, 60-126 with 3 in the top-10.  MILESPLIT ONSITE | Meet Page

 

 

 

New Jersey State Meet of Champions (NJ):  Boys-  US#2 Joe Rosa ran an incredible 14:56 on the tough Holmdel layout to break his own course record of 15:04 and run the first sub-15 performance in the courses history.  US#7 James Rosa finished 2nd in 15:15 for #2 all-time.  David Oster, Verona, was 3rd in 15:30, Mike Mazzaccaro, CBA, was 4th in 15:41, and Jonathan Vitez, Haddonfield, was 5th in 15:42.  US#15 Don Bosco definitively won the boys team title with 78 points over Christian Brothers Academy(86), while West Windsor Plainsboro North got up for 3rd with 118 points.  Girls-  US#12 Chelsea Ley, Kingsway, won the girls race with an impressive 17:56.  Megan Venables, Highland, finished 2nd in 18:01, Marielle Hall, Haddonfield, finished 3rd in 18:17, Caroline Kellner, West Windsor Plainsboro South, finished 4th in 18:37, and Laura Vigilante, West Morris Mendham, was 5th in 18:43.  Hillsborough won a 1-point nail-biter over Randolph.  Hillsborough had a 19:38 average while Randolph got in a little quicker with a 19:36 average. New York Federation Championships (NY):  Meet Story by Chris Hunt | Meet Page (Photos Posted) | Girls-  US#4 Aisling Cuffe, (Photo by Karen Ward) Cornwall, won the girls Championship race with a time of 17:38.9.  Shaylyn Tuite, Pittsford Mendon, was 2nd in 18:18.9, Lizzie Predmore, Shenendehowa, was 3rd in 18:21.2, Colleen Schmidt, Holy Trinity, was 4th in 18:22.1, Brittany Winslow, Queensbury, was 5th in 18:22.9, and Danielle Winslow, Queensbury, was 6th in 18:27.5.  US# Saratoga edged US#7 Shenendehowa 63-67, with Shen taking the team average edge, 19:04.7 to 19:10.2.  US#9 Queensbury finished 3rd with 148 points.  Boys-  North Rockland  won the boys team title over Burnt Hills, 132-169.  Warwick Valley was 3rd with 192 points.  Max Straneva, Chenango Valley, won the boys Championship race with a time of 15:59.7.  Otis Ubriaco, Burnt Hills, was 2nd in 16:03.7, Shaun Thompson, Baldwinsville, was 3rd in 16:06, Nick Hughes, North Rockland, was 4th in 16:08.9, and Steve Houghmaster, West Genesee, was 5th in 16:12.5.  (MILESPLIT ONSITE)


 

Massachusetts All-State Championships (MA):  Division 1 Champs- Girls- Lincoln-Sudbury ran away with the girls team title with 52 points behind the strength of 3 runners in the top-7 overall.  Newton South finished 2nd with 102 points.  Andrea Keklak, Lincoln-Sudbury, won the girls individual title with a time of 19:00.5.  Carolyn Stocker, Westfield, finished 2nd with a time of 19:05.3, Christine Davis, Acton-Boxborough, was 3rd in 19:14.9, Julie Solimine, Haverhill, was 4th in 19:25.6, and Corey Stock, Lincoln-Sudbury, was 5th in 19:32.  Boys- Mansfield won the boys title with 133 points to edge out Methuen, 137 points.  Patrick McGowan, Mansfield, won the boys title with a time of 16:05.4.  Anthony Taylor, Arlington, was 2nd in 16:10.4, Jared Reddy, Methuen, was 3rd in 16:11.8, Byron Jones, Westborough, was 4th in 16:19.1, and Tyler Sullivan, Whitman-Hanson, was 5th with a time of 16:19.9.  Division 2 Champs- Girls- Bishop Feehan won the girls team title with 45 points over Hamilton-Wenham, 70 points.  Alanna Poretta, Pentucket, won the girls individual title with a time of 19:08.8.  Lindsay Walsh, Swampscott, was 2nd in 19:11.8, Viviana Hanley, Bishop Feehan, was 3rd in 19:19.3, Alison Lanois, Hamilton-Wenham, was 4th in 19:36.2, and Katie Powers, Cardinal Spellman, was 5th in 19:37.9.  Boys- Pembroke dominated the team title race with 37 points while Bishop Feehan was 2nd with 95 points.  Arleigh McRae, Whitinsville, won the individual title with a time of 16:23.2.  Ryan Kelley, Pembroke, was 2nd in 16:26.9, Paul Cina, Pembroke, was 3rd in 16:28.4, Dana Dourdeville, Old Rochester, was 4th in 16:40.1, and Greg Krathwohl, Ipswich, was 5th in 16:45.4.  Meet Page


 

Mid-East Championships (OH):  Boys- David Osborn, Indiana, led his state to victory with a time of 15:38.  Nathan Karr, Michigan, was 2nd in 15:42, Tom Ohlman, Indiana, was 3rd in 15:47, Alejandro Arroyo, Indiana, was 4th in 15:47, and Brad Liston, Ohio, was 5th in 15:49.  Indiana was victorious by 16 points with a score of 29-45 over OhioMichigan was 3rd with 57 points and Illinois was 4th with 123 points.  Girls- Allison Stillwell, Ohio, was the girls champion with a time of 18:11.  Alexis Goldsmith, Illinois, was 2nd with a time of 18:22, McKinzie Schulz, Illinois, was 3rd in 18:35, Katelyn Walker, Ohio, was 4th in 18:38, and Devan John, Michigan, was 5th in 18:44.  Illinois won the team battle with 44 points over Indiana with 54 points.  Michigan was a close 3rd with 55 points and Ohio finished 4th with 61 points.  (MILESPLIT ONSITE) | Meet Information | Meet Page

 

 

KTC Post-Season Time Trial(TN):  Megan Ferowich, Knoxville Catholic, ran a speedy 10:26 3200 meter to tune-up for Footlocker, running only 4 seconds shy of Kathy Kroeger's state record.  8th grader Karlie Yinger ran an impressive 11:42.9 to win the middle school 3200 meter run.  John Sharpe, Oak Ridge, won the boys 3200 with a time of 9:22.9.   Meet Page

 

 

California Sectional Championships (CA):  Southern Section Champs- Division 1 Boys: Dana Hills won the boys division 1 race with 95 points to edge US#1 Royal, 101 points.  Dana Hills had an impressive 38-second spread.  Ammar Moussa, Arcadia, won the individual crown with a time of 14:32 over the 3-mile laoyout.  Division 2 Boys: Glendora won the team title with 96 points.  In the individual race Elias Gedyon, Loyola, edged Heydon Wooff, Adolfo Camarillo, 14:31 to 14:35.  Division 3 Boys: Samuel Pons, South Pasadena, won the individual race with a time of 14:57 to narrowly defeat Jonah Diaz, Palos Verdes, 14:58.  Palos Verdes won the boys team race over St. John Bosco, 52-62.  Palos Verdes had a spread of 59 seconds, all of which was necessary to withstand Bosco's amazing 30 second spread.  Division 4 Boys:  Laguna Beach won the team title with a dominating 27 points.  James Shipe, Morro Bay, won the individual race with a time of 15:21.  Division 5 Boys:  Woodcrest Christian won the team race with 71 points over Thacher, 92 points.  Wesley Devoll, Poly, won convincingly in the boys race with a time of 15:13.  Division 1 Girls: Alaina Alvarez, Dana Hills, won the individual race with the fastest time of the day, a 17:09.  Liberty Miller, Simi Valley, was 2nd with a time of 17:19.  Great Oak won the team title with 61 points behind the strength of a 41 second spread.  Division 2 Girls: Saugus squeaked by Mira Costa 41-49; Saugus had a 55 second spread while Mira Costa had an impressive 45 second spread.  Kaylin Mahoney, Saugus, took the individual win with a time of 17:22.  Division 3 Girls: Rebecca Mehra, Palos Verdes, won the individual title with a time of 17:12 over Melissa Skiba, Oak Park, 17:16.  Orange Lutheran recorded a narrow victory over Corona del Mar, 49-52.  Division 4 Girls: Catherine Hasbrouck, Nordhoff, won the individual title with a time of 17:51.  Harvard-Westlake won a close one over JSerra, 88-91.  Division 4 Girls: Jaye Buchbinder, Chadwick, won the individual title with a time of 18:32.  Chadwick won the team title with 44 points.  Los Angeles Section Champs- Large School Boys: Pablo Rosales, San Pedro, won the individual title with a blazing 14:32, tied for #2 All-time on the course.  San Diego Section Champs- Division 1 Girls: Molly Grabill, Rancho Bernardo, won the individual title with a blazing course record time of 15:25.  Torrey Pines dominated over Rancho Bernardo in the team race however, recording a score of 48 to 74.  North Coast Section Champs- Division 2 Girls: Julie Nacouzi, Montgomery, ran the fastest time of the day, winning the division with a time of 17:02.  Division 3 Boys: Erik Olson, Novato, won with the fastest time of the day, a 14:49 clocking.
