The year of the throws is upon us. 

Right now, four of the country's top boys throwers -- in Massachusetts, Michigan, New York and Connecticut -- are already having historic seasons. 

Woonsocket's Tarik Robinson O'Hagan has thrown a Rhode Island state record in the shot put (67-2.25).

Carson City-Crystal's Zane Forist has captured two more in the shot put (66-0.5) and the discus (207-1) -- and his latter was even a national record, though few states even sanction an indoor discus. 

Over in Connecticut, Hillhouse's Gary Moore Jr. logged a statie in the weight throw (72-11), while in New York, Michael Pinckney is squarely in the top 15 in both the shot put and discus over his state's illustrious history. 

But this could be only the beginning. 

We have nearly two months left of competition.
