The 10 Best Individual Boys Performances Of The Year

9. Harrison Witt's Unreal Double At The Colorado State Championships

- - -

Sometimes, seasons and careers can change in a blink of an eye.

And that's exactly what happened for Harrison Witt in June when he secured a new Colorado record in the 800m with a time of 1:48.50 at the Liberty Bell Track and Field Invitational.

It was shocking for a number of reasons.

For starters, no boys athlete had ever broken 1:50 on Colorado soil. The previous record of 1:50.59 was last set in 2015 by Blake Yount

But more than that, Witt wasn't even necessarily the favorite to unleash a record in the state; that honor went to Niwot's Zane Bergen.

But Witt, a Princeton recruit, made sure it wasn't a fluke.

In his finest moment of the season, less than two weeks later, the Mountain Vista (CO) senior won both the 800m and 1,600m at the CHSA Class 5A Championships, running a solo 1:48.75 in the 800m and then clocking another state record of 4:04.36 in the 1,600m.

His latter performance, which was just as impressive, saw him run away from Cherry Creek's Parker Wolfe, the Gatorade Player of the Year in Cross Country, over the final laps.
