Let's just be clear.

This was an insane year for high school track and field.

And to think, we are just a year removed from a pandemic ravaging nearly all opportunities for high school athletes.

But 2021 was special. We had a high school junior reach the Olympic final. We had three athletes turn professional. We had multiple U20 marks go down in the sprints and distance ranks.

We had epic state championship performances, and legacy-defining moments for athletes across the U.S. There were no shortage of options for something like 'a top 10 list of best moments.'

But we had a job to do, and we narrowed things down. As the year winds down to a close, we are bringing you the top 10 individual boys performances of 2021.

Honorable Mention: Leon Elloie's Louisiana Sprint Double; Zane Bergen's triple at the Colorado State Championships; Gavin Sherry's, Gary Martin's and Nathan Green's solo mile performances; Leo Young's U.S. No. 1 all-time best at Woodbridge for 3-miles; Justin Braun's Ohio sprint triple; John Lester enters into the top 10 in the 800m; Bryce Foster enters the 200-foot discus and 70-foot shot put club; Matthew Prebola enters the Pennsylvania history books in the javelin; Bryce McCray claims a state 300mH and a national 400mH title.
