Flashback Friday: 3 Girls Run Sub 2:05 At VA Showcase

Last year at the VA Showcase, three girls ran sub 2:05 in the 800m to produce a handful of the fastst times in the nation from the 2021 season.

In her only open indoor race of the year, Juliette Whittaker took this event into her own hands and produced a 2:02.07 to run the fastest time in the country while setting a new personal best. Her performance also hit the U.S. Olympic Trials standard of 2:02.50.

Sophia Gorriaran came in a close second in a 2:03.96 followed by Roisin Willis who finished third with a 2:04.31.

Looking ahead into 2022, Whittaker, Gorriaran and Willis return as the top returners in the 800m. Willis and Whittaker will have one last season together before heading to Stanford in the fall.
