With the Middle School National Championships arriving on the calendar this weekend at Tom Sawyer Park in Louisville, Kentucky, we feel it's time to break out the national rankings. 

Which middle school girls athletes are currently the best runners in the country? 

Right now, Cambridge Christian (FL) eighth-grader Eliana Black leads the way with a clocking of 18:05.10 for 5K at the Great American XC Festival in October. 

She's one of 25 middle school girls nationally who have broken 19 minutes for 5K. 

Of course, middle school athletes run a range of distance, from the 3,200m to two miles, all the way up to 4K and 5K.
