On what she was trying to find on her visits: "Going into my visits, I really wanted to make sure the team vibe was right. I was looking for the competitiveness of the team, how the teammates interacted with each other. That's a big thing for me, especially going into the collegiate level when you're going to be running against a variety of girls. I also wanted to see the facilities and see how those panned out, whether that would be a fit for me. You got to look at how close they are to campus and dorms and things like that. And also how the coaches interacted with the team as well."

Reasoning: "When I stepped on campus, I immediately loved the vibe. I love what the Duke team is doing right, especially the coaches Coach (Mark) Mueller and Coach (Shawn) Wilbourn are building a great sprints and hurdles program, especially the 400m. I'm absolutely thrilled and excited to be a part of it."

On choosing a program in her home state: "Duke was definitely my dream school for awhile actually. I can say I'm an East Coast girl now. I do love the East Coast. the weather here is nice. But I've had my eye on Duke for a long time."

Grand vision for the future: 'The most important thing right now is being able to prepare myself for a D1 program in college in general. This year I want to better my times, get into the low 13s for short hurdles. Long hurdles, try to tap into the 57s. And I want to be at peak performance so I'm ready to take that big step and become a Blue Devil."
