Rachel Forsyth has chalked up several wins and top finishes already this season. Her biggest win was at the 2021 Shepherd John Bruder Classic. The sophomore ran a 5K PR of 17:23.90. Her other win of the season came at the SEC-HS Jamboree 1, where she ran 18:37.60.
She has two more almost equally impressive second-place finishes in some of Michigan's biggest meets. Her most recent was at the 2021 MSU Spartan Invitational, where she finished behind Holland West Ottawa's (MI) Arianne Olson. This race was speed rated a 141 by TullyRunners.
We also need to mention freshmen Helen Sachs from Holland West Ottawa (MI) here as well. She finished a very close third behind Forsyth. Sachs ran 17:48.50 for and has only lost in races to her teammate Olson and Forsyth so far this season.
Forsyth's other impressive runner-up finish was at the Pete Moss Benzie Invite just behind Traverse City Central (MI) senior Julia Flynn. In that race, Forsyth ran 17:45.00.
