It's been a great year for throwers.
In April, Katy Taylor's (TX) Bryce Foster became the 13th athlete all-time to join the 70-foot shot put and 200-foot discus club when he claimed a PR of 71 feet, 1 inches in the shot put and a 210 foot, 10 inch bomb in the discus.
But while Foster's combined throws put him in a company all to himself -- he's the only athlete in the U.S. who has thrown farther than 280-feet combined -- two more high school athletes weren't too far behind.
One is a junior.
And another even defeated Foster in the discus at the Texas state championships.
Let's get to Carson City-Crystal's Zane Forist. The junior from Michigan was clearly on his own mantle, too, as his 64-7.5 shot put and 206-0 discus put him in the 270-foot club. While Foster was the only athlete over 280, Forist is similarly the only boys standout over 270.
