For The Record: John Lester Is Leaning Into His Goals

On the latest For The Record interview, Cory chats with John Lester as the Amador Valley senior and Stanford University signee locks in on big goals to finish out his 2021 track and field campaign. Lester is currently ranked US No. 2 in the 800m after his performance of 1:49.77 at the Sound Running Meet on May 15 in Irvine, California.

A year ago, at roughly around the same time, Lester ran the third-fastest junior 800m performance in high school history, hitting 1:48.26 on the clock. Lester remains driven toward improving on that time, and potentially earning an U.S. Olympic Track and Field Trials standard of 1:46.25 by June.
