Inspired by her mother, Alyssa Jones decided to follow her track and field footsteps.
Jones has always been a competitive athlete, even on the soccer field. She found her true love in track and field when she was in middle school.
Now as a high schooler at Miami Southridge (FL), she wanted to continue to push herself to be the best athlete she can be.
Despite not having many opportunities to compete during the indoor season, Jones used the fall to fuel her fire for the upcoming competition. Jones has already cleared 5-11.5 in the high jump and 20-7.25 in the long jump. The junior is also ranked US No. 10 in the 200m.
Looking into the future, she wants to reach for the sky and defend her high jump state title and go the distance in the long jump.
