LAS VEGAS, NEVADA -- Nine-year-old Victor Jaimez-Solorio was at it again this weekend, just a year after wowing spectators at the AAU Junior Olympics.

The California youth athlete took home three gold medals from the AAU West Junior Olympics across competition on Saturday and Sunday, winning the 400m, 800m and 1,500m.

On Saturday, he started his day by winning the 1500m in a solo effort with a time of 4:57.28. A few hours later, he won the 400m in 1:06.04 in over 110-degree Fahrenheit weather.

The following day, he earned his final gold medal in the 800m. He won the event with a 2:25.54, just shy of 25 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher.

In a post-race interview, he enjoys competing in the 1500m event because it's a longer race and it's more fun for him.
