Mayfield (CA) High School junior Audrey Suarez has been laying a strong foundation for her high school career since her freshman year in 2018. She has a range from the 400m through a steady pace in the 5K which she showcased at the CIF State Championships in 2019. Suarez collected top place finishes along the way at major championships.
Last year, Suarez debut in her first 1,600m race of the outdoor season at the Redondo Nike Track Festival. Despite her strategy of remaining close to the front of the pack and bringing the heat with one lap to go, she came up with a win of 4:55.53 by nearly five seconds over the rest of the field.
The Mayfield High School athlete will be looking to defend her title in the 1,600m and continue her undefeated steak in the 800m at this meet this weekend. Make sure to watch the Redondo Nike Track Festival Live on MileSplit.
