History may already be claimed, though that isn't stopping Briana Williams just yet.

The 17-year-old sprinter, who scored a high school national and World U18 record at 100 meters in 10.94 (+0.6) seconds at the JAA Senior Championships on June 23, has another grand opportunity to cut time and race fast at the North American Central American and Caribbean Athletic Association U18 Championships from July 5-7 in Queretaro, Mexico.

Williams, who officially booked her ticket to the IAAF World Championships this September-October in Doha, Qatar, for Jamaica, is entered in the 100m and 200m races, and she will be doing so at 5,912 feet.

It will be roughly a month following another outing at altitude.

Williams' big surge to sub-11 took place across a four-week window starting in June, when she raced to 11.10 seconds at the JAC Open in Jacksonville, then followed with a time of 11.02 seconds at the Great Southwest Classic in Albuquerque at 5,312 elevation.

Two weeks later, Williams, a rising senior at Northeast High School in Oakland Park, Florida, broke the high school and U18 records in Kingston, Jamaica, finishing third in the national final in 10.94 seconds. Williams is expected to compete in the 100m and 4x100m for Jamaica at the World Championships.

According to Boldon, Williams will be the youngest Jamaican in an individual event at Worlds -- not the Olympics -- in the country's history. A 16-year-old Claudine Williams ran in the Olympic heats for Jamaica at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics and 17-year-old Una Morris finished fourth in the 200m at the 1964 Olympics.

Working with Boldon, her coach and the 4-time Olympian for Trinidad & Tobago, Williams has continued to develop immensely in 2019 and could continue that form in Mexico.

While she enters as the prohibitive favorite in each event, with glaringly fast seed times, Williams will also look to cut her 200 meter best of 22.88 seconds, which took place on June 8. She could be eyeing another U18 record, held by American Candace Hill, who ran 22.43 (-0.7) in 2015.
