The Boys 400m
When: 2:25pm (MT) Saturday, June, 8 -- 400 Meter Dash Boys
Who: Justin Robinson (MO), Hasani Barr (MO), Jonah Vigil (NM)
Why: This should be a great match up between the nation's No. 1 400m runner and a state champion in Missouri with still untapped potential.
Hazelwood West High's (MO) Justin Robinson should have his eyes set on on cracking 46 seconds this weekend. If he can manage that, he would best his own US No. 1 time of 46.22 and be the first guy to run sub-46 for the 2019 season. At state, Robinson helped carry his team title through multiple events and multiple rounds. Even on tired legs, Robinson was still able to clock a 46.30 to win the 400m.
But Missouri athlete Hasani Barr shouldn't be forgotten, either. He won the Missouri class 3A boys 400m in 48.55 and has been as healthy as he's ever been in his career--he's looking to break 47 seconds before heading off to Baylor University. Taos High School's (NM) Jonah Vigil, who won the New Mexico State Track and Field meet in 47.75, is another strong contender.
