Vestavia Hills' (AL) Ethan Strand and Huntsville's (AL) Jackson Danner ran the fastest and second-fastest times for underclassmen in the 1600m at the Holiday Invitational. The duo ran 4:29.51 and 4:30.48 to finish third and fourth respectively in the race.

Who will be the next up-and-comers on the track this season? Each year there have been sophomore boys who start to make a name for themselves. Last year it was Plainfield North's (IL) Marcellus Moore, and the year before that it was Miami Norland High School's (FL) Tyrese Cooper.
