Middletown's (OH) Conant Smith after the 2017 Nike Cross Nationals Midwest Regional

The Nike Cross Nationals Midwest Regional is set to take place this weekend at the famed LaVern Gibson Championship XC Course in Terre Haute, Indiana. This year several of the top athletes who ran at last year's national championship event will be challenging for a place on the line at nationals once again. 

The top returner for the boys is Middletown, Ohio's Conant Smith. Last year Smith was third at the Midwest region running 15:05.50; he went on to finish eighth at Nike Nationals.
