The Glenn D. Loucks Games boys 3200m, where six guys ran under nine minutes
We know the season isn't over, but these numbers are worth taking a look at.
In the boys 3200m, there have been several guys who have improved by quite a bit. Leading the charge is Windham High School's (CT) Alexander Korczynski. In 2017, Korczynski ran 9:37.17, while this year he's run 8:56.59. He dropped over 40 seconds and has been one of only 29 guys to run under nine minutes in the 3200m.
Another guy who has dropped almost as much time is Saint Anthony's (NY) Matthew Payamps. Payamps dropped 35 seconds to run 8:56.06 after running 9:31.34 in 2017. There are 10 total guys who have dropped over 30 seconds from 2017 to 2018.
Lakota East's (OH) Dustin Horter holds the nation-leading 3200m time with his 8:48.62 from the Eastern Relays. He improved eight seconds from 2017, when he ran 8:56.62.
