Sadie Sargent Converts On Class 2A State Record In 1600 In Utah

Sadie Sargent set her sights on a big effort Saturday at the Morgan Invitational.

And the North Summit (UT) High senior met those goals in the 1600m, running a new Class 2A record at 5,000 feet of elevation to win by 35 seconds in 4:50.04.

The Brigham Young University recruit rolled out to an early pace that gapped the field in as little as 200 meters, though she was consistently in charge, cruising through 800 meters in 2:23.

Her altitude conversion for the distance is equivalent to a 4:48.7 time, which would convert to a US No. 8 time. Results can be found here
